Terms of Use

1. The app

Minutehand records audio, transcribes speech, detects speakers, and produces summaries and mind maps. All processing runs on your iPhone. There is no server backend, no user account, and no cloud storage operated by JadeMind.

2. License

JadeMind grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Minutehand on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the app or its components.

3. Your content and consent to record

You are solely responsible for the recordings, transcripts, notes, and files you create with Minutehand. You must obtain any consent required by law from the people you record. Recording rules vary by country, state, and context — one-party or all-party consent, workplace policies, and confidentiality obligations may apply. Do not use Minutehand where it is prohibited.

4. No professional advice

Summaries, action items, and mind maps produced by Minutehand are generated by on-device AI models and may contain errors or omissions. They are not legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. Always verify important information before acting on it.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Minutehand to:

• record people without the consent required by applicable law;
• capture, transcribe, or share content that is unlawful, harassing, or infringes third-party rights;
• attempt to bypass on-device protections, App Store licensing, or Apple's platform controls.

6. Purchases and subscriptions

Any paid features, in-app purchases, or subscriptions are billed by Apple through your Apple ID. Refunds, cancellations, and billing questions are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

7. Privacy

Our handling of your data is described in the Privacy page. In short: your recordings, transcripts, and memos stay on your device and, if you enable it, in your personal iCloud. We do not receive them.

8. Third-party services

Minutehand uses Apple frameworks including Speech, Apple Intelligence, CallKit, EventKit, and iCloud. Your use of those features is also governed by Apple's terms. Minutehand may link to third-party websites; we are not responsible for their content or practices.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Minutehand is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that transcription, summaries, or speaker detection will be accurate or uninterrupted.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JadeMind is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of recordings, transcripts, notes, profits, or data, arising out of or related to your use of Minutehand. Our aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Apple as third-party beneficiary

You acknowledge that these terms are between you and JadeMind, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for Minutehand or its content. In the event of any conflict with the Apple Standard EULA, the Apple EULA takes precedence to the extent required. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

12. Termination

You may stop using Minutehand at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate the license if you breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (licenses, disclaimers, limitations of liability) will survive.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Austria, excluding its conflict of laws rules. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence still apply. Exclusive place of jurisdiction, to the extent permitted by law, is Vienna, Austria.

14. Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. The current version is always available at minutehand.app/terms. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
